For City of Pensacola Curbside, Escambia County Drop-Off Recycling, and Escambia County Office Recycling Programs in Escambia County "Glass" is accepted.

 

NO

Plastic Bags (these are accepted at places like Publix, Winn Dixie and Walmart)

Styrofoam (egg cartons, meat and veggie trays, etc. are accepted at Publix)

Plastic lids (you can leave them on the container) or bring them to administration office at Perdido Landfill where they are reused in art projects.

The only glass accepted is bottles and jars (please remove lid)

Pizza boxes (tear in half, will accept the side with no grease or food on it)

CD's or CD cases (these are accepted at Best Buy at the front door)

 

RECYCLING QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS The following are some questions that we have received about items that we accept in our recycling program.

  • Does your program recycle bottles that have the plastic film on the inside, for example "Arizona Tea"? Yes.
  • Do you need to remove plastic window from junk mail? No.
  • Does your program recycle the black trays that microwave meals come in? No.
  • Does your program recycle books? paperback yes, hardcover books the cover needs to be removed or contact a recycling company in town, some of these company's can handle hardcover books. For more information contact us at 937-2160.
  • Does your program recycle egg cartons? It depends. Styrofoam containers are a no, and the paper containers are a yes.
  • Does your program recycle wallpaper? No.
  • Does your program recycle bubble wrap envelopes? No.
  • Does your program recycle the bags that frozen food comes in? No.
  • Does your program recycle the large plastic play sets? No.
  • Does your program recycle swimming pools? No.
  • Does your program recycle artificial Christmas trees? No.
