Department Director / County Engineer Phone: (850) 595-3451 Mission Statement: Our mission is to improve our citizens' quality of life through construction and maintenance of infrastructure, being fiscally responsible to our Board and to the taxpayers of Escambia County, and meeting needs in a professional, responsive, and efficient way, with a focus on excellence in customer service and satisfaction. Services We Provide: The Public Works Department is charged with the construction and maintenance of Escambia County’s infrastructure. Our staff are employed in the DCAT, Engineering, Fleet Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Transportation & Traffic and Roads Division divisions. Our Goal: As diverse as our duties may be, our goal is the same: to provide efficient, responsive services that enhance our quality of life, meet common needs, and promote a safe and healthy community. Our Staff: The Public Works Department employs some 300 people, from first year staff to those with 30 or more years with the county. Our divisions and branches work together to ensure the citizens of Escambia County that we are doing everything possible to be good stewards of their tax dollars.
